Intrepid Workshop - ASEG PESA
G1: Tensor Processing: Gradient Processing
This course provides participants with an introduction to quality control, gridding and filtering of
vector and full tensor datasets. You will learn to assess the quality of a tensor survey, interpret tensor
data and optimise the signal content through linear differential de-noising [MITRE] and other methods.

GeoModeller Workshop - ASEG PESA
G6: GeoModeller: Building a 3D Geology Model - Reconciled with Gravity / Magnetic Tensor Data
This one day workshop will initially introduce the 3D GeoModeller approach to building a 3D geology
model. Users will add new geology data, and revise their interpretive ideas, and will learn that geology
models can be easily revised and improved. Friday 27 August 2010 8.30 am - 5 pm
Crowne Plaza, Darling Harbour

Helen Gibson
Project Geologist
Helen Gibson began relations with Intrepid Geophysics in 2004, becoming involved with the application of 3D GeoModeller to geological problem solving. Using her commercial background in geology, she has prepared prospectus documents, conference handouts and marketing material for Intrepid Geophysics, aiming to promote the use of 3D GeoModeller in the oil and gas exploration industry.
Helen has been a consultant and service provider to the oil and gas exploration industry for some 13 years, principally as a Senior Geologist with Geotrack International. In this role she specialises in thermal history reconstructions (and basin modelling to a lesser extent), based on interpreted apatite fission track analysis (AFTAŽ) and geochemical data. Since 1993 she has carried out more than 30 thermal history studies for domestic and international oil and gas explorers, government groups, and universities. She has also written three regional studies for non-exclusive use in industry, and published thermal history studies in the Murchison Basin (New Zealand), and Adelaide Fold Belt (South Australia).
Helen has a BSc (Hons) Geology (1987) and an MSc Geology (1993) both from the University of Melbourne. She is based in Sandringham, Melbourne, from where she operates her own business "The Loop Geologic", providing a range of services to earth science organisations. She was an author/presenter at the 2004 APPEA conference (Canberra), and the 2005 Central Australian Basins Symposium (Alice Springs). She is a member of PESA.

David Stephensen
Technical Communicator
David Stephensen has been a technical communicator since 1973, when he invited his media lecturer to the computer centre to see his Computer Aided Instruction program. Since then he has taught IT in schools and to people at work. He compiled and published a science and technology newspaper index for schools from 1989 to 1995.
David has been designer and author of user manuals at Intrepid Geophysics (IG) since 1992. In recent years he has contributed to other areas in the company.
