ASEG - PESA 21st Conference & Exhibition
The Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG) and Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA) invite you to participate in the 21st International Geophysical Conference & Exhibition
Come and visit Intrepid Geophysics at Booth No 66 22-26 August 2010

Intrepid Workshop - ASEG PESA
G1: Tensor Processing: Gradient Processing
This course provides participants with an introduction to quality control, gridding and filtering of
vector and full tensor datasets. You will learn to assess the quality of a tensor survey, interpret tensor
data and optimise the signal content through linear differential de-noising [MITRE] and other methods.
Saturday 21 August 2010 8.30 am - 5 pm
Crowne Plaza, Darling Harbour

GeoModeller Workshop - ASEG PESA
G6: GeoModeller: Building a 3D Geology Model - Reconciled with Gravity / Magnetic Tensor Data
This one day workshop will initially introduce the 3D GeoModeller approach to building a 3D geology
model. Users will add new geology data, and revise their interpretive ideas, and will learn that geology
models can be easily revised and improved. Friday 27 August 2010 8.30 am - 5 pm
Crowne Plaza, Darling Harbour

INTREPID Integration
INTREPID is fully integrated with Geosoft Oasis montaj. INTREPID can access and write to all Geosoft datasets. You can use high-powered INTREPID tools directly from Oasis montaj using the GX scripts that we supply. With Lynx Software you can access INTREPID data and tools through ArcView and MapInfo. INTREPID can directly access data in a number of formats and import or export many more.

Edit, transform and manage data
- Subsection, append, merge and resample line, point and grid data
- Convert data between datums and projections; (INTREPID supports a huge range of international datums and projections.)
- Integrate data that have different datums and projections
- Easily define your own local datums and projections
- Display statistics and histograms of data including angular (Fisher) statistics
- Edit data graphically using profile or flight path editors, or in a spreadsheet environment. Editing facilities include:
- Search, find and replace
- Using existing fields to create new fields
- Spline interpolation through edited data

Grid data and manage grids
- Create grids from line or point data using bi-cubic splining or minimum curvature methods
- Smooth, resample, rotate grids and manage grid bands
- Merge unlimited numbers of grids
More about Gridding ...
Level data
- Level your data interactively using tie lines or networks (loop closure)
- Decorrugate and microlevel your line data
More about Levelling ...
Filter data
- Apply spatial convolution and spectral domain (Fast Fourier Transform) filters to gridded data
- Apply spectral domain (Fast Fourier Transform) and spatial filters to line data
More about Filtering ...
Display data and compose maps
- Display point and line datasets, and single and multiband grids using grey scale, colour or sun angle, with geographical annotation
- Crop, pan and zoom dataset displays
- Adjust the colour or shade range of a display by linear or histogram colour stretching
- Align and overlay sets of points, lines and polygons from other sources onto grids, and display them using a style of your choice
- Prepare and print maps containing your data with a wide range of data-linked and simple annotations, including your own logos and other elements
More about Visualisation & Map Composition ...
Interpret data
- Detect edges and identify high and low lineaments in your data with 'worm' diagrams
- Analyse magnetic grid data for coherence using the 'MagMage' tool
- Calculate solutions and source depth estimations for observed anomalies using Euler and Naudy methods.
